The Spell of Spring

Dung of cow

And dust of tree,

Rot in piles

A year or three.

Wheel barrow,

Sturdy spade,

Grubbing hoe,

And furrows made.

Seeds of corn,

Beans and peas,

Dirty nails,

Aching knees.

Trust in sun,

Pray for rain,

Field of love,

Live again!
